BurlingtonBiz is an interactive city directory internet website, app, and platform.
We believe it is important to be transparent with data at this time so the following will cover the data we keep and what we do with it.
We collect data when you create an account with us.
This may include personal data, such as name, email address, personal account preferences; transactional data, such as purchase history; and technical data, such as information about cookies.
We collect this data to retain user accounts on the site so that users can “bookmark” or store their favorite listing within the site and access exclusive information that account holders get access to such as special discounts and local offers.
When a user creates an account they have the access to create a listing. After creating a listing, they have the option to promote that listing or place it on a premium account. When this happens, the user will purchase a promotional key or subscription.
These purchases or transactions go through a third party eCommerce platform that completes the financial transactions on our behalf. We use Woo-commerce for all of our financial transactions therefore BurlingtonBiz does not have access to financial data when purchases are made as that information is encrypted.
We cannot see credit card information on our back end.
When account holders leave comments on listings our records retain their name, email address, IP address, time and date, and what listing was commented on.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included.
Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
We store this media on a hosted server.
When users use contact form on BurlingtonBiz to contact us or another listing, we receive a copy of the email.
We collect the user’s name, email, and message so that we can ensure quality service and monitor for safety and security reasons.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
We use Google Analytics to track the site performance, visitors numbers, time of visit, and most visited pages.
We also use Facebook Pixel to help us target users who may like our service during Facebook marketing campaigns.
By default BurlingtonBiz does not share any personal data with anyone for any reason.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile or the “BurlingtonBiz” feature. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. These accounts are protected by a user-defined password.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
At this time, all comments and listings are review by our staff.
In the unlikely event that a data breach should occur, we will contact the proper authorities for the case depending on the type of information taken. This can include local police, the Federal Commission, or Credit reporting companies.
by default, we do not collect information such as birthdays, social security numbers, or any other personally identifiable information other than name and email address.
At this time, BurlingtonBiz does not receive data from any third party website.
At this time, BurlingtonBiz does not use any automated decision making or profiling with user data.
